St Kilda, Melbourne
I enjoyed exploring the St Kilda neighbourhood very much. I took a tram from the Town Hall and it was a nice 20-minute ride to the area. St Kilda is a lot of things all at once -historic, funky, a bit rough and ramshackle but very trendy and it is by the sea. It has lived several lifetimes - grand a long time ago, grotty and drugged out not too long ago and fashionable again now.
One of the most famous landmarks of St Kilda is the laughing face.
Haha, you can't come in! The amusement park will not amuse you today.
Both the laughing face facade and the roller coaster are classified landmarks by the National Trust.
Hotel Esplanade, affectionately known as Hotel Espy. It reminds me of a waterfront hotel in Brighton.
There are so many cake shops along Acland Street that just breathing in the air can give you a sugar rush. You either succumb or choke back tears.
I thought this was a very charming place. I think it's a yacht club.
